Pune Traffic to Be Hit by Tiranga Rally on August 11

Pune Traffic Police have announced major diversions on August 11 due to a Tiranga Rally on Fergusson College Road (FC Road). Restrictions will begin from 2 PM and affect the stretch between Lalit Mahal Hotel Chowk and Garware Chowk, along with nearby junctions. Commuters have been advised to use alternate routes and expect delays. Emergency vehicles will be exempt from the restrictions.

Pune Metro 3: Launch Delayed Despite Safety Clearance

Pune Metro 3's Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi corridor is facing further delays despite receiving CMRS safety clearance for its first 12-km stretch around two weeks ago. PMRDA and Pune IT City Metro have yet to announce a confirmed launch date. The delay is longer than several other Pune Metro routes that began services shortly after receiving safety approval. Meanwhile, the complete 23-station corridor could face an extension until March 31, 2027, with all stations targeted for operation by December 2026. The project is crucial for Hinjawadi IT employees and daily commuters, who are awaiting an alternative to Pune's congested roads.
