Pune: Residents of Mali Mala in Lonikand Kalbhor now have a dedicated railway underpass following the completion of a long-pending connectivity project. The new facility is expected to make daily travel across the railway corridor safer and more convenient.
The underpass addresses a longstanding problem for residents who previously faced difficulties while travelling across the railway line. School students, two-wheeler riders and other local motorists are expected to be among the main beneficiaries.
Long-Pending Connectivity Issue Resolved
The railway line had created a significant connectivity hurdle for people living in the Mali Mala area, particularly those commuting regularly for education, work and other daily requirements.
Residents and local representatives had repeatedly raised the issue with railway authorities and sought a dedicated alternative to crossing the railway tracks.
With the underpass now completed, residents have a designated passage for travelling between the neighbourhood and surrounding areas.
Safer Route for School Students
The new underpass is expected to particularly benefit schoolchildren who regularly travel across the railway corridor.
Instead of depending on track crossings for routine movement, students and other residents can now use the underpass, providing a more convenient route for their daily commute.
Two-wheeler riders and other motorists will also have an alternative passage, reducing inconvenience and potentially saving travel time.
The completion of the project brings relief to Mali Mala residents after their longstanding demand for improved connectivity across the railway line.
