Pune: Man Killed After Drunken Fight on Katraj-Kondhwa Road; Suspect Detained
Rajkumar Ambaji Sangunde was allegedly killed after being struck on the head with a stone during a fight in Gokulnagar on Katraj-Kondhwa Road. Police have detained 29-year-old Tushar Walhekar. Preliminary information suggests the two acquaintances had consumed alcohol before an argument escalated into a physical fight.

Pune: A man was allegedly killed after a dispute between two acquaintances escalated into a violent fight in the Gokulnagar area along Katraj-Kondhwa Road on Sunday evening. Police have detained a 29-year-old suspect in connection with the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Ambaji Sangunde, while the suspect has been identified as Tushar Walhekar (29), a resident of Gokulnagar.
Incident Near Airking Hotel
According to preliminary information from police, the incident occurred in an open space in front of Airking Hotel in Gokulnagar.
Rajkumar and Tushar knew each other, and investigators have learnt that the two had also been involved in an argument a day before the fatal incident.
On Sunday, the two allegedly consumed alcohol together, following which another argument broke out. The dispute intensified and turned into a physical fight.
Stone Allegedly Used in Attack
During the altercation, Tushar allegedly struck Rajkumar on the head with a stone. Rajkumar suffered a severe head injury and died.
After receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination.
Police detained Tushar and are questioning him to establish the sequence of events leading to Rajkumar’s death.
Investigators are now trying to determine the exact reason behind the dispute, what triggered the confrontation between the two men and the complete circumstances surrounding the alleged killing.
