Narayangaon Woman Alleges Dowry Harassment Over ₹28 Lakh Loan; Husband, Three In-Laws Booked
Narayangaon Police have booked a woman’s husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law after she alleged years of harassment and demands for money from her parental family. The complaint includes an allegation that she was pressured to bring money to help repay a ₹28 lakh loan reportedly taken for purchasing land.

Pune: Narayangaon Police have registered a case against four members of a family after a 30-year-old woman from Junnar alleged prolonged harassment, physical assault and demands for money from her parental family.
The complaint was lodged on October 1 by Vrushali Devendra Mule (30), currently residing at Aptale in Junnar taluka.
The accused named in the complaint are her husband Devendra Suresh Mule, mother-in-law Manjula Suresh Mule, brother-in-law Pravin Suresh Mule and father-in-law Suresh Kushaba Mule.
Alleged Harassment From 2021 to 2026
According to the complaint, the alleged harassment took place between June 2021 and June 6, 2026 at different locations, including the family residence at Manjarwadi, Vinchbe in Panvel taluka and Vapi in Gujarat.
The woman alleged that members of her marital family repeatedly made derogatory remarks about her appearance and complained that her parental family had not provided adequate gifts or hospitality during the wedding and subsequent family occasions.
₹28 Lakh Land Loan Mentioned in Complaint
A key allegation concerns money allegedly sought from the woman’s parental family to help repay a ₹28 lakh loan reportedly taken for the purchase of land.
The complainant alleged that she was repeatedly pressured to bring money from her parents towards repayment of the loan.
She further alleged that she faced verbal abuse and physical assault over what the accused considered inadequate gifts or treatment during the customary Dhondya month.
According to the complaint, the alleged harassment continued over several years and caused her physical and emotional distress.
Following her complaint, Narayangaon Police registered a case against the husband and three members of his family. The allegations are now subject to police investigation.
