Gurugram: A 30-year-old IT professional and his wife were found dead inside their rented apartment in Gurugram, Haryana, after the man reportedly sent an email to his employer stating, "We are leaving this world." Police suspect that the man may have killed his wife before dying by suicide, although the exact circumstances remain under investigation.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Aslam and his wife, Farhana, both originally from Kerala. Their bodies were discovered on Wednesday at the M3M Marina residential society in Gurugram. The incident occurred on Farhana's birthday.

Email to Employer Raises Alarm

According to preliminary information, Aslam sent an email to his employer at approximately 7 am, informing the company that he and his wife were leaving the world.

The email reportedly included contact numbers belonging to his family members and the landlord.

Concerned colleagues immediately alerted the landlord, who visited the couple's apartment in Tower 7 of the residential complex.

Upon reaching the flat, the landlord reportedly found the apartment door open. Aslam was found hanging, while Farhana was lying unresponsive on the floor with injuries around her neck.

Police were subsequently informed and launched an investigation.

Note Recovered, Electronic Devices Seized

During an inspection of the apartment, investigators recovered a note containing the message, "We are leaving this world."

The words "I love you" were also reportedly handwritten on Farhana's clothing.

Police seized several items from the apartment for forensic examination, including three laptops, two mobile phones, a rope, a diary, scissors and a pen drive.

Investigators are examining the recovered evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine what happened before the couple's deaths.

Police Register Murder Case

Based on preliminary findings, police suspect that Aslam may have killed Farhana before taking his own life.

A murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

However, investigators have not yet established the precise sequence of events or the circumstances that led to the deaths.

Badshahpur Police are conducting further inquiries, including forensic analysis of the evidence collected from the apartment.

Couple Had Relocated from Bengaluru Three Months Ago

Aslam and Farhana were both employed in the technology sector and had moved to Gurugram from Bengaluru approximately three months before the incident.

The couple married in 2023 and were living in a rented apartment at M3M Marina.

Aslam had studied at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut, and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore.

Farhana was also working for an IT company and reportedly performed her professional duties remotely from home.

According to relatives, the couple appeared to share a close relationship, and the family was unaware of any serious marital dispute.

Family Raises Concerns About Work Pressure

Family members have reportedly stated that Aslam had been receiving treatment for depression for approximately 18 months.

Some relatives have also suggested that work-related stress in the IT sector may have played a role in the tragedy.

However, police have not established work pressure or any mental health condition as the cause of the deaths.

Investigators are examining the available evidence before drawing conclusions about the possible motive.

Investigation Continues

The deaths have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the couple's final hours, particularly the email sent to Aslam's employer and the note recovered from their apartment.

Badshahpur Police are continuing their investigation, and further findings are awaited.
