Pune Motor Accident Claim: Family Awarded ₹1.18 Crore Compensation in Death Case
The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Pune has ordered compensation of ₹1,18,16,556 to the family of tax consultant Makarand Gopal Jinde, who died in a road accident in April 2023 after a cement mixer truck allegedly hit his vehicle from behind. The compensation claim was filed against the truck owner and HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited.

The family of a tax consultant who died in a road accident in Pune has been awarded ₹1 crore 18 lakh 16 thousand 556 in compensation by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal.
The accident took place on April 25, 2023, at around 1:30 pm on the Jambhulwadi-Shivajinagar Road. According to the claim, Makarand Gopal Jinde was travelling towards Shivajinagar Chowk when a cement mixer truck, bearing registration number MH 43 U 6695, allegedly approached from behind at high speed and collided with his vehicle.
The impact caused Jinde to fall, after which the cement mixer truck reportedly ran over him. He sustained fatal injuries and died at the spot.
Family Filed Compensation Claim
Following the accident, Jinde's wife, mother and brother filed a compensation claim before the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Pune through advocate Pramod Dhule.
The claim was filed against the owner of the cement mixer truck and HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited, seeking compensation for the financial loss caused by Jinde's death.
According to the claim, Jinde had been working as a tax consultant for more than eight years. His annual income was stated to be ₹9,21,774, and his wife, mother and brother were dependent on him.
The family had sought compensation of approximately ₹1.40 crore in connection with the accident.
Tribunal Awards ₹1.18 Crore Compensation
After considering the arguments presented by advocates representing the applicants and the insurance company, along with the evidence submitted before the tribunal, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal member S.R. Pawar passed an order awarding ₹1,18,16,556 as compensation to Jinde's family.
The award provides financial relief to the deceased's family following the loss of their primary earning member.

Advocate Pramod Dhule represented the applicants in the compensation case. He was assisted by Advocate Ajinkya Khaire, Advocate Manoj Pawar and Advocate Mazhar Mujawar.
The compensation order was passed after the tribunal considered the evidence and arguments presented by both sides.
