Alandi Hotel Dispute Turns Violent, Owner Attacked With Knife
A minor seating dispute at a hotel in Kelgaon near Alandi allegedly escalated into a violent attack, with a 30-year-old hotel owner being struck on the forehead with a vegetable-cutting knife. Police arrested the 26-year-old accused after the hotel owner filed a complaint.

Pune: A minor disagreement over seating at a hotel in Kelgaon near Alandi escalated into a violent confrontation on Monday night, with a 30-year-old hotel owner allegedly being attacked with a vegetable-cutting knife.
The incident occurred around 11pm on August 10 at Maifal Hotel in Kelgaon. Police identified the accused as Keshav Pandharinath Solanke (26), a resident of Alandi.
According to the police complaint, Solanke had visited the hotel and sat on a raised ledge near the wall, close to table number four. Hotel owner Datta Chakradhar Gadhave (30), a Kelgaon resident, reportedly asked him not to sit there.
The request allegedly led to an argument between the two. During the confrontation, Solanke allegedly slapped Gadhave. The dispute then took a serious turn when the accused allegedly picked up a sharp vegetable-cutting knife kept on the hotel counter.
Police said Solanke allegedly attacked Gadhave with the knife, striking him on the forehead. He also allegedly scratched the hotel owner on the chest with his fingernails, leaving him injured.
The sudden attack reportedly caused panic inside the hotel, with customers moving away from the spot as the situation turned chaotic.
Following the incident, Gadhave approached Alandi Police Station and lodged a complaint against Solanke. Police subsequently arrested the accused and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault.
Police are now conducting further inquiries into the incident, including the events that led to the dispute and the alleged attack.
