Pune Woman Allegedly Kills Boyfriend, Dismembers Body in Thane; Voice Note Leads Police to Grisly Discovery

Thane: A shocking murder case has come to light in Maharashtra's Thane district, where police recovered the dismembered and decomposed body of a 37-year-old man from a rented apartment in Kalyan East. The discovery was made after the tenant allegedly sent a voice message to the flat owner claiming she had killed her boyfriend and asking him to cremate the body.

According to Manpada Police, the deceased has been identified as Hamidilla Islam (37), while the accused, identified as Hasiba, is believed to be between 35 and 40 years old. Both are natives of West Bengal.

Police said the body was found stuffed inside a gunny bag in the bathroom of the apartment located in Neelkanth Society on Malang Road, Kalyan East. The remains were in an advanced state of decomposition and have been sent for a post-mortem examination.

According to the police, the flat owner received a voice message from the accused after she allegedly fled to Kolkata. In the message, she claimed that her boyfriend had brought her from Pune to Kalyan with the intention of selling her into a prostitution racket and later planned to kill her. She alleged that she acted in self-defence. These claims are part of the ongoing investigation and have not been independently verified by police.

Senior Inspector Sandipan Shinde of Manpada Police Station said the accused allegedly killed the victim around five to six days before the body was discovered. Police suspect she later dismembered the body and concealed it inside a gunny bag in an attempt to delay its discovery.

Residents of the housing society had reportedly complained of a foul smell for several days before police located the source. Investigators are also examining whether the apartment had been rented without mandatory police tenant verification.

A police team has been dispatched to West Bengal to trace and arrest the accused. Further investigation is underway.
