The new feeder services began on Wednesday, November 4, a day after the inauguration of the Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar Metro corridor.
To strengthen last-mile connectivity, PMPML has also announced 22 new bus stops near Metro stations. The expanded network will operate with 25 scheduled buses completing approximately 620 trips.
11 New Feeder Routes to Connect Metro Stations With IT Parks
The newly introduced services aim to make Metro travel more convenient for IT professionals, students and residents travelling between residential neighbourhoods, commercial centres and Metro stations.
Metro Shuttle No. 31 will operate between Pimpri Metro Station and Wakad Chowk Metro Station, improving connectivity between the existing Metro network and the new corridor.
Metro Shuttle No. 41 will connect Maan MIDC Circle Phase 2 Metro Station with Nilsoft Company and Infosys Phase 3, providing an important transport link for employees working in Hinjawadi's IT hubs.
Other feeder routes will connect Mahalunge Gaon with TCS Maan Metro Station and TCS Maan Metro Station with Podar International School in Bhoirwadi.
Additional services will operate between Indira University in Tathawade and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk Metro Station, as well as between Koyte Vasti in Punawale and Padmabhushan Chowk Metro Station.
Feeder connectivity will also be provided from Lavale Phata, Blue Ridge Society, Girme Park, Embassy TechZone Parking and Joyvilla Society to nearby Metro stations.
Meanwhile, the existing Metro Shuttle No. 50, operating between MITCON Metro Station in Balewadi and Chandegaon, has been extended to serve additional commuters.

To make the new Metro corridor more accessible, PMPML has announced 22 additional bus stops near stations along the route.
These include TCS/Maan, Maan MIDC Circle Phase 2, Maan Bus Depot, Hinjawadi Phase 1, Hinjawadi Phase 2 Circle, Wipro Circle, Padmabhushan Chowk, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Wakad Chowk.
Other locations covered include Sports Complex Mahalunge, MITCON Balewadi, R.K. Laxman Sai Chowk, Balewadi High Street, Balewadi Phata, Baner Gaon, Mahabaleshwar Hotel and Baner Phata-Aundh.
The network also includes Sakalnagar, Savitribai Phule Pune University, RBI Bank, Agriculture College and Shivajinagar Metro Station.
The new stops are intended to reduce the distance passengers need to travel between feeder bus services and Metro stations.
Better Last-Mile Connectivity for Hinjawadi IT Employees
The Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 is expected to serve thousands of daily commuters travelling between Pune's major IT employment centres and residential areas.
However, convenient access to Metro stations remains an important factor in encouraging passengers to shift from private vehicles to public transport.
By connecting housing societies, educational institutions, IT parks and commercial locations with Metro stations, PMPML aims to make daily commuting easier.
The feeder network could also help reduce dependence on private vehicles, particularly along congested routes in Hinjawadi, Wakad, Baner and Balewadi.
PMPML had previously introduced feeder services for Metro stations across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad in phases. The latest expansion extends that network to the newly inaugurated Line 3 corridor.
The transport undertaking has encouraged commuters to use the additional services for more convenient Metro connectivity.
