New Delhi: A fresh political confrontation unfolded in Parliament after Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of celebrating former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, despite the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged NEET paper leak.
Speaking during the Monsoon Session, Priyanka Gandhi said BJP MPs welcomed Pradhan "as if he were a superstar," questioning the government's response to the concerns raised by students across the country.
Opposition Targets Government
The Opposition alleged that instead of addressing students' grievances and ensuring accountability, the ruling party chose to publicly felicitate Pradhan. Opposition leaders argued that the government should focus on restoring trust in the country's examination system rather than celebrating political figures linked to the controversy.
The remarks come after weeks of nationwide protests over the alleged examination irregularities, with Opposition parties repeatedly demanding greater accountability from the Centre.
Government Defends Its Position
The BJP maintained that the government has already taken several measures to tackle examination malpractice, including proposing stricter anti-paper leak legislation, strengthening the National Testing Agency (NTA), and announcing fast-track courts for paper leak cases.
Government leaders have also accused the Opposition of attempting to politicize the issue instead of participating constructively in parliamentary discussions.
Parliament Continues to Witness Protests
The NEET paper leak issue continued to dominate proceedings in both Houses of Parliament, with repeated disruptions and slogan-shouting by Opposition members demanding accountability and justice for affected students.
Despite the government's willingness to discuss the issue, frequent protests have disrupted legislative business during the Monsoon Session.

Priyanka Gandhi's remarks have further intensified the political debate surrounding the examination controversy. As Parliament remains divided over the issue, the NEET paper leak continues to be one of the most contentious topics of the current session.
