PM Modi Defends Government's Action on NEET Paper Leak, Calls for Restoring Youth's Trust

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday defended the Union government's handling of the alleged NEET paper leak, stating that authorities had acted swiftly against those involved. He also acknowledged the concerns of students and stressed that rebuilding the trust of the country's youth must remain a priority.

Speaking on the issue, the Prime Minister said that the government had taken immediate steps to investigate the matter and ensure that those responsible faced legal action. He reiterated that the integrity of national examinations should never be compromised and that strict measures would continue to be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.

His remarks came a day after thousands of protesters, led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), marched towards Parliament demanding action against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protesters alleged that the government had failed to safeguard the credibility of one of India's most important entrance examinations and called for greater accountability.\

"The future of our youth is the future of the nation. It is our responsibility to ensure that examinations are conducted fairly and transparently while restoring the confidence of students and their families," Modi said.

The NEET examination, conducted annually for admission to undergraduate medical courses, is one of the country's largest competitive exams. Allegations of paper leaks and examination irregularities triggered widespread concern among students, parents, and educators, with many questioning the security and fairness of the examination process.

The Ministry of Education has maintained that investigations are underway and that strict legal action is being taken against those found guilty. Officials have also stated that additional safeguards are being introduced to strengthen examination security and prevent future malpractices.

Meanwhile, opposition parties and student organisations continue to demand greater transparency, independent investigations, and long-term reforms to restore confidence in India's examination system.

As the investigation progresses, the government faces the challenge of addressing students' concerns while ensuring that national entrance examinations remain fair, secure, and credible for millions of aspirants across the country.
