NSG, US Commandos and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Conduct Anti-Terror Mock Drill at Infosys Hinjawadi Campus
A joint anti-terror mock drill involving the NSG, 17 US commandos, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, and multiple emergency agencies was conducted at Infosys Phase 2 in Hinjawadi, Pune. The exercise simulated a terrorist attack to test emergency response, evacuation procedures, and coordination among security agencies in one of India's busiest IT hubs.
Pune: A large-scale anti-terror mock drill was conducted at Infosys Phase 2 in Hinjawadi IT Park on Wednesday, creating the appearance of a terrorist attack for several hours. Authorities clarified that the exercise was a planned security drill aimed at testing emergency preparedness and inter-agency coordination.
Joint Security Exercise
The drill was held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:05 p.m. and involved commandos from the National Security Guard (NSG), Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, and several other emergency response agencies.
Officers from the 26 Special Composite Group of NSG Mumbai participated in the operation with helicopter support. The exercise also included 17 commandos from the United States military, who are currently in India for joint training with the NSG.

Objective of the Drill
The exercise was designed to simulate a coordinated response to a terrorist attack. Teams practised key emergency procedures such as:
•First responder action
•Establishing inner and outer security cordons
•Traffic management
•Bomb detection and disposal
•Anti-terror operations
•Safe evacuation of employees and civilians
Officials said the primary objective was to improve coordination among all responding agencies during any future emergency.
Ensuring Security at Major IT Hub
Hinjawadi is one of India's largest IT hubs, with thousands of professionals commuting to the area every day. Authorities said such mock drills are essential to assess preparedness and minimise casualties in the event of a real security threat.
Senior NSG officers, officials from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, and Infosys HR and security teams monitored the exercise throughout the day.
