Preparations for Navratri have begun at the Shri Laxmi Mata Temple in Shivdarshan, Pune. This year, the temple committee is creating a grand replica of a temple from Indonesia, offering devotees an opportunity to experience a different style of temple architecture during the festival. Organisers expect more than 10 lakh devotees to visit the celebrations.

Pune: With the Navratri festival just days away, preparations are underway at the Shri Laxmi Mata Temple in Shivdarshan. The major attraction this year will be a grand replica of an Indonesian temple being constructed within the temple premises.
After showcasing replicas of several famous temples from across India in previous years, the organisers have decided to present an international theme this year. Through the Indonesian temple replica, devotees will get an opportunity to experience its distinctive architecture and artistic style while visiting the Navratri celebrations.
Temple committee president Hemant Bagul said the initiative has been planned with the aim of presenting devotees with something different and innovative during the festival.
Every year, the Navratri celebrations at the temple feature elaborate decorations, religious programmes and various activities for devotees. This year, the Indonesian temple replica is expected to add a special attraction to the festivities and introduce visitors to architectural traditions beyond India.
