New Delhi: LPG consumers have once again been advised to check and complete their Aadhaar-linked e-KYC as oil marketing companies continue their consumer verification exercise.
The verification applies to domestic LPG consumers, including customers of Indane, HP Gas and Bharat Gas. The exercise is intended to authenticate consumer records and improve the accuracy of LPG connection and subsidy-related information.
While reports circulating online have cited September 14 as a deadline for completing LPG e-KYC, an official nationwide notification confirming this date as the final cut-off could not be independently verified from the major oil marketing companies or the petroleum ministry.
Consumers should therefore avoid panic over claims that their LPG connection will automatically be cancelled immediately after September 14. There is also no verified basis for assuming that every customer who has not completed e-KYC will automatically be shifted to commercial LPG rates.
Customers with pending verification should nevertheless complete the process at the earliest to ensure that their LPG records remain updated and to avoid potential difficulties with services linked to consumer verification.
Depending on the LPG provider, customers can check their e-KYC status through official digital services or contact their authorised LPG distributor for assistance with Aadhaar authentication.
