Kangana Ranaut Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Protest Near PM Modi's Residence, Calls It a 'Security Breach'
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the protest held near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence in New Delhi. Calling it a "security breach," Ranaut questioned why the protest was taken near the Prime Minister's residence when demonstrations were already taking place at Jantar Mantar.
New Delhi: BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has strongly criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the protest held near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence in New Delhi, calling the move a serious security breach.
The protest took place amid nationwide demonstrations over the alleged NEET examination paper leak and the ongoing agitation led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). While Opposition parties have been demanding accountability from the Centre over the examination controversy, Congress leaders staged a protest near 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, the Prime Minister's official residence.
Speaking to the media, Kangana Ranaut questioned why Congress leaders attempted to march towards the Prime Minister's residence when Jantar Mantar had already been designated as the protest site.
"This was a security breach. Rahul Gandhi tried to lead protesters towards the Prime Minister's residence. When a protest site had already been designated at Jantar Mantar, why was there a need to demonstrate outside the Prime Minister's residence? Our government has been continuously engaging in dialogue," Ranaut said.
She also criticised Rahul Gandhi's demand for Prime Minister Modi's resignation.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the most popular leaders in the world. Why should he resign?" she said.
Congress Protest Near PM's Residence
On Tuesday, Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, participated in a protest near the Prime Minister's residence.
During the demonstration, Rahul Gandhi demanded a discussion in Parliament on the alleged NEET examination irregularities and called for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to take responsibility and resign.
As police attempted to remove the protesters, Congress workers allegedly surrounded the officers. Rahul Gandhi reportedly lay down on the road during the protest before he and several other Opposition leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Akhilesh Yadav, were detained. They were released a few hours later.
The protest is part of the Opposition's continued campaign demanding accountability over the alleged examination crisis and the government's handling of the issue.
