Kalyani Nagar Residents Felicitate Yerawada Police for Strengthening Public Safety
Kalyani Nagar residents felicitated Yerawada Police officials for their efforts to address noise pollution, improve police response and strengthen neighbourhood security. The event also featured a Ganesh Chaturthi greeting and a Raksha Bandhan gesture symbolising citizen-police trust.
Pune: In a gesture highlighting the growing bond between citizens and the police, residents of Kalyani Nagar felicitated senior officials of the Yerawada Police Division for their efforts to maintain law and order, address public grievances and tackle noise pollution in the neighbourhood.
The felicitation programme was held at Yerawada Police Station at 6:30 pm on August 24 and was led by resident Monica Sharma and her team. The residents honoured DCP Rajanikant Chilumula (IPS), Zone IV, Senior Police Inspector Umesh Gitte and Crime PI Keshav Dinde for their contribution towards public safety and community policing.
As part of the gesture, residents presented framed portraits of Lord Ganesha to the police officials ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. The programme also included a Raksha Bandhan gesture, with residents tying rakhis to police personnel present at the station as a symbol of trust, respect and mutual protection.
Focus on Noise Pollution and Neighbourhood Safety
According to the residents, Kalyani Nagar had been facing concerns related to excessive noise from commercial establishments, late-night disturbances and lack of awareness about noise regulations. They credited the Yerawada Police team, including API Dinesh Patil, with taking prompt action on complaints and improving enforcement.
Residents said increased police patrolling, quicker responses to complaints and greater police visibility have helped improve their sense of security in the area.
The interaction also highlighted the importance of continued communication between residents and law enforcement agencies. Police officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining public order, addressing genuine complaints and working with citizens to ensure a safer and more peaceful neighbourhood.
