Gurugram Biker Case: Kalyan Bainsla Arrested in Rajasthan
Gurugram Police have arrested Kalyan Bainsla in Rajasthan in connection with the viral incident in which woman biker Sia was hit by a car on Golf Course Road. After analysing CCTV footage and other evidence, police added an attempt-to-murder charge under BNS Section 109. Another person allegedly present in the car has also been taken into custody as the investigation continues.

Gurugram: Gurugram Police have arrested Kalyan Bainsla, the driver accused of deliberately hitting a woman motorcyclist during a road-rage incident on Golf Course Road. Bainsla was traced to Rajasthan after police teams launched a search for him following the circulation of videos showing the collision.
The case has also become more serious after investigators added Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with attempt to murder. Police said the section was invoked after examining CCTV footage and other evidence collected during the investigation. The provision can attract imprisonment of up to 10 years, depending on the circumstances and outcome of the case.
The woman biker, known as Sia on social media and identified in reports as Shivani Chauhan, was riding an Aprilia RS 457 with a group of bikers on Gurugram's Golf Course Road when the incident occurred. Videos that later went viral showed a white car moving towards her motorcycle before the collision.
The impact knocked the biker onto the road and sent her motorcycle sliding for several metres. The car left the location following the collision, while one of her fellow riders reportedly attempted to follow it.
Police initially registered the case under BNS provisions concerning rash driving and acts endangering life or personal safety. The investigation was subsequently expanded, with the attempt-to-murder provision added after further examination of the incident.
Bainsla had maintained before his arrest that the collision was not intentional and disputed the version presented by the biker. Sia, however, alleged that the car occupants had been pursuing her before the collision and maintained that the vehicle deliberately struck her motorcycle.
Police have also taken action against another person who was allegedly present in the car at the time. Investigators are examining his role as part of the wider probe.
The case attracted widespread attention after footage of the incident circulated on social media. With the principal accused now in custody and a more serious criminal provision added to the case, police are continuing their investigation to establish the complete sequence of events and the roles of those involved.
