CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Alleges Excessive Police Force During Delhi Protest; Claims Over 150 Students Injured

New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday levelled serious allegations against the Delhi Police following the police action during the party's "Sansad Chalo" protest in the national capital.
Addressing the media at Jantar Mantar, Dipke alleged that police used excessive force against protesters, including students and women, during Monday's march towards Parliament.
According to Dipke, over 150 students were injured in the police action and are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals. He further alleged that several women protesters were assaulted, claiming that one young woman suffered serious neck injuries after being struck with batons and remains hospitalised. He also alleged that the clothes of another woman protester were torn during the confrontation.
Dipke questioned why stronger crowd-control measures such as water cannons were not used instead of a lathicharge. He claimed the protest march was withdrawn to prevent further injuries to demonstrators.
The CJP founder also alleged that unidentified individuals in civilian clothing participated alongside police personnel during the crackdown. Additionally, he claimed that Gitanjali Angmo, the wife of activist Sonam Wangchuk, was assaulted during the protest and that he himself was also injured in the police action.
He further questioned how trucks allegedly carrying stones reached the Jantar Mantar area despite heavy police security, suggesting that the incident should be investigated.
