CBI Names 13 Accused in NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Chargesheet; Six Linked to Pune
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its chargesheet in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, naming 13 accused, including six individuals with links to Pune. The investigation alleges that questions from the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology sections were leaked to selected students before the examination through a well-organised network spanning multiple states.
Pune: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet in the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, naming 13 accused, six of whom are connected to Pune. The probe has revealed what investigators describe as a coordinated network that allegedly leaked examination questions before the national medical entrance test.
Six Pune-Linked Accused Under Scanner
According to the CBI, several accused from Pune allegedly played key roles in leaking or circulating questions from the Biology, Physics, and Chemistry sections of the examination.
Among those named are:
•An NTA-appointed Botany expert from Pune accused of leaking Biology questions.
•A Physics expert allegedly linked to the leak.
•A Pune-based coaching faculty member accused of passing on leaked questions.
•Other Pune-linked individuals alleged to have coordinated with candidates and intermediaries.
How the Alleged Leak Operated
The investigation alleges that selected candidates were given access to questions before the examination through special coaching sessions and other channels. The leaked questions reportedly matched those that later appeared in the NEET-UG 2026 exam, with investigators alleging money changed hands as part of the conspiracy.
Multi-State Investigation
The CBI has carried out raids at multiple locations across India, recovering laptops, mobile phones, financial records, and documents believed to be connected to the alleged paper leak. Officials say the investigation is continuing to identify additional links and establish the complete conspiracy.
Case Heads to Court
The chargesheet has been submitted before a special fast-track court in Delhi. The court has granted the CBI additional time to file supporting annexures, with further proceedings scheduled in the coming days.
